About Draftly

Draft it here. Take it anywhere.

What it is

Draftly is a free document editor that runs entirely in your browser. Open it, start writing or upload an existing .docx file, and export a real Word-compatible document when you're done — no account, no sign-in, no install.

Why it exists

Most of the time, editing a document shouldn't require an account, a subscription, or installing an office suite. Draftly was built for the everyday case: a letter, a resume, an assignment, a quick edit to a file someone sent you. Your draft stays on your own device by default, and nothing is uploaded anywhere unless you explicitly choose to share it.

Who builds it

Draftly is built and maintained by a single independent developer, not a company. It's a small, focused tool rather than a product of a larger team, which is also why it stays free and straightforward — there's no growth team or ad sales to fund.

Where it's headed

Draftly is actively worked on. If something is missing or broken, or you just want to say hello, see the Contact page.
